The Healthy Mind platter is a module about the basic needs of our brain.
If we balance our everyday life to fulfill these needs, we can improve our
mental well-being as well as our ability to perform in school or at work.

Improvements through family team work

Team work within the family is a great way to improve everyday habits. Here are some things you can do to support your younger family members.

 What's the baseline?

A good first step is to analyse the current situation. The module contains a self assessment which participants use to get a quick overview over their own balance. You can also print it and use it for yourselves or the younger family members. The self-assessment can help you clarify which areas to focus on. Encourage your family members to choose a few areas and decide on some improvement tips they want to try.

(The younger persons in the family are seldom the only ones with room for improvement, so some modesty on the adult side is usually suitable...)

What do you want to change together?

Are there needs you can address by changing things together? Can you, for example, agree on family principles for when to use screens and when not to? Or how to plan your evening time to create conditions for better sleep? Try to find common ground on some things and write down what you agreed on.

 Celebrate results!

Pay attention to improvements and celebrate them. For example, you can reward yourself with something if you manage to hold your family agreement for a whole month.
